Mossadegh Project

The Mossadegh Project brought history to life in an investigative journalism simulation that took place shortly after the coup that removed Prime Minister Mohammed Mossadegh of Iran from power. Placed on newspaper teams, students sought to uncover the truth through a variety of leaked documents and interviews with relevant historical figures (played by other students). With embedded opportunities for differentiation and materials that could be adapted up or down, the Mossadegh Project has run successfully in grades 8 through 12.
